But why does the entire population suffer because of those poker junkies? We do not close hospitals because of hypochondriacs and we don't close malls because of compulsive shoppers. Why poker should be different? Why poker players should suffer because of a small percent of the entire decent gambling community.

Poker players who sense they might have a problem managing their money and cannot bet reasonably should not play at all. It is every gamblers responsibility to try and help those poker players and not take advantage of them.
